This most recent image, which showed the Google Android mascot urinating on the Apple logo in the style of those unfortunate Calvin and Hobbes bootleg decals, was apparently uploaded by a Map Maker user “nitricboy” yesterday, according to his user Map Maker allowed users to draw features, adding roads, rivers, green spaces and local businesses. But some edits, such as an image of its Android mascot urinating on an Apple logo, were not as welcome. Google said that the shutdown is "temporary" but Google has pulled the tool that allowed users to make amendments to its Maps service, in the wake of a huge prank that saw a user draw the Android logo urinating onto the Apple one. Editing the maps at all is now disabled until the company improves the Google temporarily kiboshed Map Maker, which lets people add details to Google Maps, after people inserted an image of an Android taking a big piss on the Apple logo.
